Domain Authority

Definition

Domain authority is 1-100 score that indicates how well positioned your website is to appear in search engine results. A higher domain authority indicates a better chance to rank in search. Domain authority is calculated by combining a number of different factors, but mostly depends on the number and quality of links pointing to a website.

Domain authority is a metric created by Moz. Domain rating, a similar metric, has been developed by Ahrefs. Although DA and DR both correlate with search rankings, it should be noted that neither metric is in itself a ranking factor, as they have not been created or endorsed by Google.
